Catholic Charities’ Programs and Services
Catholic Charities is committed to providing unmatched care to the communities we serve. We do this through our vital programs including counseling, domestic violence and sexual assault programming, an emergency family shelter, a food pantry and refugee services.
Counseling
The Catholic Charities’ Counseling program provides professional therapy services for those who are struggling with stress and anxiety. Our therapists provide excellent insight and support needed to manage life’s problems in a more productive way.
Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
The Catholic Charities’ Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault program provides services to anyone faced with these issues through a 24-hour crisis phone line, emergency shelter, court advocacy and much more. This program is based in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Emergency Family Shelter
The Catholic Charities’ Emergency Family Shelter, formerly known as St. Joseph’s Family Shelter, keeps homeless families together during a very difficult time in their lives. Our goal is to help each family leave the shelter feeling empowered to live a successful, sustainable life.
Food Pantry
The Catholic Charities’ Food Pantry, formerly known as St. Mary’s Family Center, helps our clients fulfill their basic needs. In addition to food, the pantry also provides personal hygiene items, diapers, wipes and formula to those we serve.
Refugee Services
Catholic Charities Refugee Services works through the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the U.S. State Department to resettle refugee families in our area. Our staff is passionate about supporting our refugee clients and setting them up for success as they adjust to their new surroundings.
Catholic Charities also offers adoption search services. A record retention service for those adopted through Catholic Charities or Christ Child Home is available by calling 515-244-3761.
